Summary:
Local surfer and guide Quinn Carson will pick you up and take you for a day surf trip that is customized to your taste and his local wave knowledge. These trips are designed to give you a local flavor of Los Angeles surfing, including personalized surf instruction and GoPro video feedback to help improve your skills. The meal and bonfire at the end of the day to cap it all off is a favorite. Locations include Venice, Santa Monica, Docweiler State Beach, Will Rogers State Beach, and Malibu Creek State Park.

ITINERARY
Meet & Greet
Meet Quinn and load up the truck with your gear for the day.
Land Lesson
Once we get to the surf spot we will assess the conditions (I will explain to you tides, the ocean floor, different types of waves and whatever other surf science you want to know), put our wetsuits on, and have a short land lesson on the beach. Here we will learn how to pop up and ride the wave and I will answer any questions you may have.
Lesson # 1
We head out into the waves and go for our first surf.
GoPro Video Feedback
I will be taking GoPro video from multiple angles during the surf lesson. While we have some water and a snack we will go over the video footage of your first shot at standing up and pinpoint ways you can do it better.
Lesson # 2
Get back out there and work on the things we saw in the video that we can improve on.

ABOUT THE HOST
I was born in Chicago, where I couldn't do any of the stuff I dreamed of doing. I was lucky enough to learn to surf on a vacation to the east coast and that was it, I got the bug for life. Ever since then I have been living next to the ocean, first Miami, now Los Angeles.

Simply put, Quinn makes this adventure epic! We started off the day near Malibu where Quinn had all of our gear (suits, boards and GoPros) ready for us, then we had a quick lesson on the beach before getting into the water. The surf was perfect and we spent hours in the water with Quinn's instruction and help catching the waves. After changing (Quinn even had a portable shower), he took us up into the hills to catch the sunset. After a funny ride with good music, we finally got to a campsite where we started a bonfire and began cooking. To our surprise, Quinn whipped out pounds of marinated carne asada steak, cilantro, onions, limes, fresh tortillas...he had it all. After we were more than stuffed, he continued to bring out more goodies (this time it was endless smores). We joked and had an awesome rest of the night. I couldn't recommend Quinn any higher!
